Rex Allen Mooring Sr.

Fremont- Rex Allen Mooring Sr., 68, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at his home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont with visitation afterwards.

Mr. Mooring was born in Wayne County on November 16, 1948 to the late Roland and Lillie Barnes Mooring. 

He is survived by his wife, Donna Mooring; son, Rex Mooring Jr., of Fremont; two daughters, Angela Faye Talton and husband, Brandon of Goldsboro and Melissa Jeannette James and husband, Gary of Fremont; and their mother, Alice Faye Mooring of Fremont; son, Donnie Bryant and wife, Stephanie of Fayetteville; one step-son, Chad Hedgepeth and wife, Alexis of Rocky Mount; one step-daughter, Niki Hedgepeth of Wilmington; three brothers, Bobby Mooring and wife, Linda of Lucama, Louis Mooring and wife, Katheline of Fremont and David Lee Mooring and wife, Patsy of Black Creek; two sisters, Louise Pate and husband, Roy of Black Creek and Barbara Sauls and husband, James of Black Creek and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family is being served by Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 North Pine Street in Fremont.
