Beth & Fran,
Only met your dad a couple of times, yet just knew he was an integrity based person. Reading the post, the content reminds me of the both of you. Never meeting a stranger, storytelling, enjoying everything from mental to physical work Fran, and laughter at all situations Beth! We laughed sooo much in our time in college at just stupid random stuff....now I understand your roots! Just bet our fathers would have been fast & furious friends!!
This is such a hard time, but I sooo believe you will see him again! My heart goes out to you both, as every beautiful day, when there's a cool breeze, you'll think of him, and know he's playing, on the green of greens!! I know mine is! We LOVE Y'ALL!!!

Whatta guy. Brilliant mind. Loved work; any work; mental, mechanical or physical and found joy in a challenge. Helpful to everyone. Shared with all. Saw the humor in everything. Enjoyed everyone. Obviously loved and was proud of his family.
Thanks, Bill

Uncle Bill was a brilliant and jovial person. I will remember him that way. Hope that fond and happy memories will help family through this trying time. Love you Aunt Cecile, Beth and Fran.

Sorry for your loss. I never had the privilege of working directly with Bill, but did work with him on several special projects. Bill was not only a highly skilled and talented Revenue Officer, he was also a master story teller. He was a friend to everyone and we all looked forward to meeting with him just to hear more of his stories. RIP Bill!!

I had the privilege of working with Bill from 1978-1981 while I was assigned to the Fayetteville office. He certainly made a lasting impression on everyone he met and was always able to make you smile regardless of your circumstances. I enjoyed getting to visit with him briefly once a year these past few years at the Mike Martin Memorial Golf Tournament in Mt. Olive. Praying your fond memories and the love of family and friends and your faith will comfort and encourage you in the weeks ahead.

I worked around Bill when I first started with the IRS in Greensboro. He told me so many stories about his job and I was entertained by them. He helped to make it a pleasant day when he was in town. So sorry for your loss - but wait until you see him in your future. What a joyous day that will be. RIP Bill.

Bill was a great mentor when I was just a rookie Revenue Officer. He served in The Special Procedures Branch when I knew him and guided us through tremendous legal, technical issues. He also told us many stories of his times in the field as a revenue officer. He knew the law, respected it and upheld it....he also mad our work life memorable, fun and meaningful. Thank you all for sharing your Dad with us!
