Austin Lance Lancaster

Austin Lance Lancaster, 14, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, June 29, 2017 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont and other times at the home of his paternal grandparents, 3999 US 117 North.

A service to celebrate Austin’s life will be held Friday, June 30, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow at Pate-Lancaster Cemetery in Pikeville.

Austin was born in Wilson County on March 6, 2003 to Nickolas Lancaster and Rebecca Bottino. He attended Grantham Middle School where he had just graduated the 8th grade.  He enjoyed many hobbies and interest including, playing baseball, skating, playing horse with his brothers, listening to his music and cutting the grass at his Pa’s house.  Austin looked forward to the family’s yearly beach trip, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his father, Nickolas Lancaster and step-mom, Juliana Surratt both of Pikeville and mother, Rebecca Bottino and step-dad, Marcus Thompson of Goldsboro he is survived by his twin brother, Darren Lancaster of the home, Dillon Lancaster of Pikeville and Sawyer Charles Thompson of the home; his sister, Estella Thompson of the home; his paternal grandparents, Nicky and Jane Lancaster of Goldsboro; maternal grandparents, Melissa Spelling of Seven Springs and Gary Fordham of Goldsboro; his aunt, Sherry Lancaster Shelby and husband, Tom and their daughter, Tori Shelby.

The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
