Betty Bogue Obituary

Betty Jean Bogue, 89, of Fremont, went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 7th, 2019. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family early Friday morning. 

 

Funeral service will be held Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Fremont Free Will Baptist Church with burial following at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.  The family will receive friends prior to the service in the church fellowship hall from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. 

 

Betty Jean was a beautiful lady inside and out.  She loved her family and loved to wait on and cook for everyone.  She was an excellent cook and famous for her fried chicken, corn bread, chicken salad, potato salad, and her canned pickles.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She was a faithful member of Fremont Free Will Baptist Church for over 60 years.  She loved her church and church family and they loved her. 

 

Betty Jean was born in Wayne County to the late Fred Lee Coley and Dolly Cook Coley. She was preceded in death by her faithful and loving husband of 66 years, Mr. Frank Lee Bogue.

 

Mrs. Bogue is survived by her children Angie Hare and husband Donnie of Wilson, Wanda Mallette and husband Colonel (Ret.) Rodney of Wake Forest, Frank Bogue Jr. and wife Marie of Chesapeake, VA, and JoAnn Aldridge of Pink Hill; grandchildren, Joel Hare and wife Kristen, Brian Hare and wife Olivia, Shelley Hare and fiancé Brandon Coffman, Eric Mallette, Dr. Justin Mallette and wife Lauren, Ella Bogue, Hailey Aldridge, Wesley Aldridge and wife Jenny; great grandchildren, Aaron, Parker, Andrew, Calvin and Thomas Hare and Oliver Mallette; sister Bonnie Eatman and husband Thomas; along with many loving nieces and nephews.  

 

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Bogue was preceded in death by her grandson, Rodney Alton Mallette Jr., her sisters Hildred Coley, Dotsie Lancaster, and Ethelene Newsome; brothers Pete, Vincent, Buddy and the Rev. L. B. Coley.

 

Although flowers are welcome, contributions may be directed to Fremont Free Will Baptist Church, 106 West South Street, Fremont, NC 27830.

 

The family sends a very special thank you to her friends and caretakers, Lottie Distler and Linda Struck.  

 

The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
