Kenneth M. Grimes

Kenneth M. Grimes, 80, of Stantonsburg, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 15, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.  A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Eureka Cemetery.

Mr. Grimes was born September 1, 1936 to the late Mack and Lottie Grimes.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Frances Howell Grimes; son, Kenneth Douglas “Doug” Grimes and wife, Deborah of Stantonsburg; daughter, Carlene Wilson and husband, Robert of Rock Ridge; two grandchildren, Kylie Brown and Megan Grimes; step-grandson, Brandan Wilson and two great-grandchildren, Brenton Parker and Brantley Stelck.

The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Doug and Deborah Grimes, 4749 Old Stantonsburg Road, Wilson.

The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
