he done. He ultimately received the Presidential Citation Asiatic Pacific Campaign with Brass Battle Stars. This was a cornerstone of Moore's life and he was later one of the original members and past President of the AE/AOE Sailors Association.  Moore transferred to the Coast Guard after WWII and had many enjoyable summers on duty at the Coast Guard Reserve Training Center In Yorktown, VA and ultimately retiring as Commander.

While at UNC he met the love of his life, Elizabeth Reeves Martin Moore. They were married December 18, 1952. She was a Christian woman with many friends and never knew an enemy.
Elizabeth was the light of Alan's life for over 54 years when she departed this earthly realm April 11, 2007.

In 1953 he came to the University of Florida as Professor for Sport and Exercise Science. Professor Moore is well known for his dedicated service as founder, faculty advisor, and coach of

the alumni has met to enjoy comradeship together. The Agin' Gators was his pride and joy.

Besides his achievements as coach he was recognized as a leader in the classroom with numerous publications in journals in his field and co-authored textbooks on topics ranging from soccer to physical fitness.
