Obituary
Alice Faye Mason Barnes, 82, of Fremont went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 3 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mrs. Barnes was born in Wilson County on July 5, 1940 to the late Dewey and Nince Hawley Mason. She was a member of Crosspointe Baptist Church in Fremont and retired from Firestone in Wilson.
She is survived by two sons, Eugene "Little Jim" Barnes and wife, Robin of Pikeville and Timothy Barnes and husband, David Moses of Knighdale; two brothers, Jerry Mason and wife, Jean of Kenly and Billy Mason of Rocky Mount; one granddaughter, Staci Adams and husband, Will of Wilson and two great-grandchildren, Corbin and Stella.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her husband, Clenon E. “Big Jim” Barnes.
The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
