Alice Faye Barnes Lieder, 70, of Fremont went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, January 30, 2023 at UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro.
Alice was born in Wilson County on October 5, 1952 to the late William Bernice Barnes and Mary Walls Barnes. She was a member of Smithfield Church of God where she served faithfully as past Sunday School teacher, choir leader and Evangelist. She was also a former member of Lucama Church of God. Her faith in the Lord was known by so many and will be deeply missed.
She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Rex Allen Mooring Jr. and wife, Sandra of Fremont; daughters, Angela Talton and husband, Brandon of Goldsboro, Melissa James and husband, Gary of Fremont and Denise Smith and husband, Benjamin of Nahunta; one brother, William Gary Barnes and wife, Becky of Belfast; four sisters, Mary Ann Howell and husband, Donald of Pikeville, Bobby Barnes of Nahunta, Linda Parks and husband, Buddy of Mt. Olive and Nancy Barnes of Nahunta; six grandchildren, Nikki Perry (Josh), Derek Mooring (Breana), Abby James (Cannon), Brandon James (Alex), Clifton Schneider and Clark Schneider and four great-grandchildren, Kaileigh, Ozzy, Cooper and Leland.
Homegoing service will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, February 2, 2023 from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont and other times at 121 Pinkney Court in Fremont.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bud Barnes.
