Ashley Nichole Newsome

Ashley Nicole Newsome, 25, of Pikeville, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro.

Ashley was born in Wayne County on January 10, 1996 to Frances Williams. She was raised by parents, Sandra Barnes and William Newsome. Ashley was a graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School, Class of 2014 and she attended East Carolina University.  She was employed by Lee Ford Lincoln in Wilson.

Ashley is survived by her husband, Matthew Belt; parents, Sandra Barnes and William Newsome (Connie); grandparents, Agnes and Joe Pridgen; brothers, Keith Tucker, Kyle, Zachary and Michael Buchanan and by sisters, Katie and Samantha Newsome and Emma and Crystal Buchanan. 

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mattie Newsome and by her grandparents, Jimmy and Darlene Barnes.

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 2 until 2:45 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.  A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Eureka Cemetery.

Ashley’s angelic face and her sweet spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
