Pikeville- Betty Jean “BJ” Williams, 56, passed away Monday, February 29, 2016 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.   

 

She was born in Wayne County on November 26, 1959 to the late Faison and Sarah Wheeler Williams.  She was the owner of BJ’s Café in Eureka and was a dedicated member of Watery Branch FWB Church where she was involved with the church in whatever aspect needed from the choir to church plays.  She had a heart of gold and was always helpful and involved with the community and assisted with whatever was needed.  She received the Eureka Community Service Award.

 

Betty Jean is survived by one son, John Edmundson and fiancée, Holly Aumen of Pikeville; one daughter, Bobbie Jean Seagle and husband, Derrick of Eureka; two brothers, Jerry Williams and wife, Brenda of Pikeville and Larry Williams of Rosewood; four sisters, Susie Pipkin of Goldsboro, Debbie Denton and husband, Mike of Kenly, Blanche Wheeler of Pikeville and Ann Mooring of Goldsboro; two grandchildren, Hailey Edmundson and Dawson Peaden; and a special friend, Debbie Ellis.

 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Watery Branch F.W.B. Church in Statonsburg, with Pastor Allen Stanley officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 7 until 8: 30 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 N. Pine Street in Fremont.
