Bud Barnes

Bud Barnes, 62, of Pikeville passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro.

A graveside will be held Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.

Bud was born in Wayne County on January 25, 1959 to the late William Bernice Barnes and Mary Beatrice Walls Barnes.  He attended Haven of Hope.  Bud enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, gardening and playing the scratch off.

He is survived by one son, Bud Jr. (Hailey); two daughters, Deborah (Jeremie) and Ashley (Travis); his life-long partner, Debbie; one brother, Gary Barnes and wife, Beckie; five sisters, Alice Lieder (Tim), Mary Ann “Mousie” Howell (Donald), Bobbie Barnes (Danny), Linda Parks (Morris Jr.), Nancy Barnes; nine grandchildren, Alyssa, Jerry, Justin, Nevaeh, Hailey, Jeslyn, Jayden, Benelli, Braxton and one on the way.

The family is being served by Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
