Deana Mozingo

Deana A. Mozingo, 84, of Black Creek, surrendered her life to the Lord Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at her home with her family.

A graveside service will be held Friday, December 4, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Pikeville Cemetery in Pikeville.  The family will receive friends following the service.

She was born to Gabriel and Myrtie Aycock of Johnston County born on November 18, 1936.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurston Mozingo and her son-in-law, David Goldsmith.

Deana is survived by daughters, Kay Wheeler of Elm City and Diane Goldsmith of Wanchese, NC; seven grandchildren and their spouses, thirteen great-grandchildren and another on the way.

Deana never met a stranger.  She could bring even the lowest of spirits alive with her gift of encouragement.  Deana loved “feeding people.”  She was known to family and friends for her good cooking.  Deana considered others before herself and gave freely to all. 

The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 North Pine Street in Fremont.
