Esther Mae Coker

Esther Mae Coker, 74, of Fremont departed this earthly life Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro.

A memorial service to honor her life will be held Sunday, June 9, 2024 at 3 p.m. at Community Baptist Church in Goldsboro with her brother, Reverend Michael Lewis officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. 

Mrs. Coker was born in Wayne County on May 1, 1950  to the late Mathie "Mack" Lewis and Elizabeth Benson Lewis.

Cherishing her memories are her son, Alton Earl Coker Jr. of Leland; one daughter, Rebecca Coker of Fremont; two brothers, Douglas Lewis and wife, Moria and Reverend Michael Lewis and wife, Cathy of Goldsboro and one granddaughter, Isabella Grace Coker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Earl Coker.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Baptist Church, 351 Antioch Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 N. Pine Street in Fremont.
