Joan Crawford Edgerton

Joan Crawford Edgerton, 87, of Pinkney Road passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, January 2, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Nahunta Cemetery in Pikeville. The family will receive friends following the service.

Mrs. Edgerton was born in Wayne County on February 9, 1934 to the late William Theodore and Pearl Sasser Crawford.

She is survived by her son, David Edgerton and wife, Phyllis of Pinkney; two daughters, Dale Elizabeth Edgerton of Pinkney and Joanna Edgerton & Nina Strickland of Wilson; three brothers, A.B. Crawford and wife, Ann, Larry Crawford and wife, Stella and Albert Crawford and wife, Connie; one sister, Sandra Dykes; one grandson, Will Edgerton and wife, Bri and two great-grandchildren Maddox and Makenna.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dock Edgerton and her brothers and sisters.

The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
