Madeline (Sauls) Odom

Madeline Sauls Odom, 85, of Fremont passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 4 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont with Dr. Don Sauls officiating.  The family will greet friends following the service. 

Mrs. Odom was born in Wayne County on February 5, 1936 to the late Luby Sauls and Jennie Goff Sauls.  She was a member of Faro Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by her two daughters, Laura Odom Shuford of South Carolina and Jenny Odom Ballance and husband, Andy of Fremont; four beloved grandchildren, Kathryn Fanning and husband, Matthew, Jackson Shuford and Harry and Jessica Ballance and two great-grandchildren, Parker and Garrett Fanning.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Odom was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Odom Sr.; one son, Ralph Odom Jr. and a son-in-law, Fred Shuford.
