Naomi Freeman (Freeman) Adams

Pikeville- Naomi Freeman Adams, 88, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at home.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 30, 2016 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 North Pine Street in Fremont. 

She was born in New Jersey on May 30, 1928 to the late Martin Ivan and Lillie Hughes Freeman.  Mrs. Adams was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children, Joanne and husband, Sandro Mendez of Chapel Hill, NC, Mark and wife, Carol Adams of Wichita, KS, Dawn Hattig of Moreno Valley, CA, Gail Schrock of Frisco, TX, Lillie and husband, Scott Ezzell of Pikeville, NC, Tina and husband, Richard Hollar of Hickory, NC, Lee (Step-son) and wife, Carman  Adams of Greer, SC, John (God-son) and wife, Sandra Clark of Pikeville, NC; her grandchildren, Beth and Dan Rybczyk, Debbie Skaff, Tara and Joe Bedwell, Carin Ingoldby, Brian and Shalo Maida, Shannon and Jason Albert, Ronnie and Byron Mathieu, Katie and Paschal Strong, Sherri and Charles Person, Candice and Phillip Brock, Joshua and Cally Ezzell, Elizabeth and Shawn Jensen, Jason and Amanda Giddens Brown and Stacey and Bill Merck and Matthew Giddens; 28 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Deborah Sayles.

The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
