Wayne Art Lewis

Wayne Art Lewis was born May 14, 1931 in Eureka, NC to the late Royal Bruce & Bessie Mae Walston Lewis.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Eureka Cemetery in Eureka.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Wayne lived and worked mainly in Wayne County. He enjoyed farming alongside his father, but he really loved going fox and bird hunting with his father. He would regale to anyone how would listen to stories regarding fox hunting especially when they ran a fox through Fremont.

Wayne is survived by his son, Curtis Wayne Lewis of Dudley, NC; his sister, Jane Myra Lewis Bynum of Hillsborough, NC; his brothers, Carl Hubble Lewis and wife, Doris of Eureka, NC and Bobby Lewis and wife, Ann of Twin Cities, GA.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor J. Lewis; his sister, Mary Lou Lewis Westbrook and a brother-in-law, Francis Bethune “Bill” Bynum.

The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 North Pine Street in Fremont.
